Privacy policy

MasEduQuest is an online learning platform operated from the United Arab Emirates. For the MasEduQuest academy at maseduquest.com we decide how your data is used. For an academy run by another organisation, that organisation decides who may join and sees its learners' progress, and we process the data on its behalf. Contact us at hello@maseduquest.com.

• Account data: your name, email address, username, a securely hashed password (we never store the password itself), your language and time zone, and the confirmation that you are 18 or older and accepted the terms.
• Learning data: the courses you join, lessons completed, quiz and assessment answers and scores, certificates, and notes you write.
• AI help: the questions you ask the AI study helper and its answers, so you can see your history and so we can apply fair-use limits.
• Sign-in and security records: each sign-in attempt with its time, result, IP address, browser description and approximate country, plus your active sessions. We use these to protect your account, spot attacks and lock out repeated wrong passwords.
• Anonymous visit counts: we count page visits without cookies. A visitor is represented by a one-way hash that changes every day, so we can count visitors for a day but cannot recognise you from one day to the next or link a visit to your account.
• How you found us: when you sign up, we note which link or campaign brought you (for example “google” or “whatsapp”), kept in your browser tab only until you sign up, never in a cookie.
• Searches and study topics: we record the words typed into the course search and the topics asked for in “Learn anything”, without your name, and show them to academy staff only as totals, and only when at least three people used the same words.
• Messages you send us, such as feedback or support emails. If you give an email address with “What do you want to learn?”, we use it only to reply to you.

• to create and run your account and show you your courses, progress and certificates;
• to send the emails the service needs, such as confirming your email address or resetting a password;
• to keep the platform secure, prevent abuse and fake sign-ups, and enforce fair-use limits;
• to understand, in aggregate, which pages and courses are used so we can improve them;
• to meet legal obligations.

We use your data because it is needed to provide the service you signed up for, because we have a legitimate interest in keeping it secure and improving it, or because the law requires it. We do not use your learning data for advertising.

Your conversations with the AI study helper are private to you: other learners cannot see them, and they are not shared with your academy as a record of your work. To produce an answer, your question and the relevant lesson text are sent to an AI model provider that processes them on our behalf. Please do not put sensitive personal information into AI questions.

• We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as light or dark mode. These are needed for the site to work.
• We do not use third-party analytics or tracking tools, with one exception: Google AdSense on free, public pages of maseduquest.com and its academy sites (for example public articles and course listings). Pages inside your account, paid pages and academies on their own web addresses do not show these ads.
• On pages with ads, Google may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings and read how Google uses data in Google's advertising policy.

• We do not sell or rent your personal data.
• The academy you learn with can see your name, email, enrolments, progress, scores and certificates. It cannot see your password or your AI study helper conversations.
• Service providers that help us run the platform (hosting, email delivery, AI processing) handle data only on our instructions and under confidentiality terms.
• Anyone with a certificate code can check that the certificate is genuine.
• We may disclose data if the law requires it or to protect people from harm.

• Account and learning data: while your account is open.
• Sign-in and security records: only as long as needed to keep accounts secure and investigate problems.
• Anonymous visit counts: kept as totals; they contain no personal data.
• When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, unless we must keep something to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute. Copies in backups are removed as those backups expire.

You must be 18 or older to create your own account. Children learn through a parent or guardian, who creates their own account and adds the child from the parent portal. The parent or guardian can ask us at hello@maseduquest.com to see, correct or delete their child's data. If you believe a child has created an account on their own, tell us and we will close it.

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop or limit a particular use of it. Email hello@maseduquest.com from the address on your account and tell us what you would like. We may need to confirm it is really you. We aim to reply within 30 days. You can correct most account details yourself in your profile. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, each academy's data is kept separate at the database level, and repeated wrong passwords are locked out. You can turn on two-factor sign-in in your profile and see and end your active sessions. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects your data, we will tell you as the law requires.

Our servers and some of our service providers may be located outside the United Arab Emirates. When data is transferred, we take steps to make sure it stays protected.

We will update this page when what we collect or how we use it changes, and change the date at the top. For important changes we will tell you in the product or by email first. This policy is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates; see also our Terms of use.
